Today, I’m excited to review an interesting product I just got in the mail: the Electric Dental Calculus Remover. Could this device really save you hundreds of dollars by allowing you to clean your dog or cat’s teeth at home? Let’s find out together. In this video, I’ll be testing it out on Tula, my shy dog, who’s definitely in need of a good teeth cleaning.

Unboxing the Electric Dental Calculus Remover

When I opened the package, I was impressed by the sleek and fancy design of the third-generation Electric Dental Calculus Remover. Inside the box, I found:

  • A mirror
  • A couple of hand tools for plaque and tartar removal
  • A USB cable for charging
  • A couple of soft bristle heads (presumably to help remove plaque and tartar)

The device claims to use intelligent high-frequency vibration, which it says can break down plaque and tartar. It features three modes: low, medium, and high. After charging it up, I was ready to test it out.

Testing the Device on Tula’s Teeth

Before I dive into using the device, I want to make sure to follow the directions carefully. I applied some all-natural toothpaste to the soft brush head and moistened it with water. I then pressed the power button and selected the medium mode to start the cleaning process.

Tula, who’s a bit shy about her teeth being touched, was surprisingly calm through the process. I held the brush at a 45-degree angle, focusing on the gum line where plaque turns into tartar, which is often the root cause of gingivitis and dental disease in dogs and cats.

Results After the First Use

I spent about 30 seconds using the Electric Dental Calculus Remover on Tula’s canine tooth and incisor. After cleaning, both teeth appeared to be marginally cleaner. Tula tolerated the process much better than she does with traditional hand tools.

While the plaque and tartar were reduced, I wouldn’t say it was a dramatic change. The device did seem to have some effect, but I’m not convinced it’s a long-term solution.

Is the Electric Dental Calculus Remover Worth It?

So, is this device worth purchasing? For the price (around $50 on Amazon), it definitely provides some value. However, I don’t think it’s going to make a huge difference long-term. If you can’t afford a professional cleaning with general anesthesia and a full dental scale and polish, this at-home dental plaque remover can help you maintain your pet’s teeth between professional cleanings.

That said, I don’t believe it’s the “magic bullet” for all your dental care needs.

What Do You Think?

I’d love to hear your feedback! If you’re doing home dental care for your pets, I’d be very interested to know what methods or tools you’ve found to work best. Let’s share our tips and tricks to help each other out.

And, of course, thank you to Tula for being such a good sport in this video! Stay tuned, as I’ll be testing out more dental products in the future. When I find the one that really works, I’ll be sure to try it out on Tula and let you all know.

  1. I wish you would set up Affiliates programs to sell the tools you use because it would make things easier. I need a manual dental scaler and an electronic scaler.
