Thank you for your continued help with our animals. I’ve been subscribed to your YouTube channel, and today I had the pleasure of listening to your podcast about Quercetin.
Thanks, Dr. Jones.

Hello Dr. Jones,
I give my 24lb pup Bella Quercetin for allergies. However I noticed that on line the amount for her weight is 50mg but on the bottle it states 2 capsules of this amount. Please advise. Thank you
Our Ultimate BioActive Quercetin Dosage recommendations:
Dogs and cats up to 10lbs: 1/2 capsule daily
Dogs 10 – 50lbs: 1 capsule daily
Dogs 50-100lbs: 1 and 1/2 capsule daily
Dogs over 100lbs: 2 capsules daily
Why does your quercetin not have Bromeline in it?
Dr. Jones’ Ultimate BioActive Quercetin does not include bromelain because it is formulated to provide a potent dose of quercetin without additional ingredients. This approach ensures that the supplement is suitable for pets with sensitivities or allergies to other compounds.

I noticed my cat wasn’t eating his usual wet food and began giving him quercetin, after 1 day of it he had started eating again, but after a week on the supplement I noticed he started making a high congested sound in his throat and I can hear it when he purrs as well. He’s eating and drinking normally now though and i’ve stopped the quercetin for now. He doesn’t have any discharge.
Although for months now he’s been scratching his ear and shakes his head and has chin acne. There’s no dark debris in his ears and they look normal. But there are a little bit of small brownish specks in the ear he acratches. Could it be allergies or an ear infection? Should I keep giving him quercetin or clean his ears out?
Thank you so much for your help.
Sounds more allergy related to me, especially with the itchy ear, head shaking, and chin acne. Those brown specks could be wax or early mites. Gently clean the ear with a cat safe cleaner and monitor closely.
Good call stopping the quercetin for now since the throat noise started after it. Once that settles, you could cautiously retry it. If the scratching or congestion continues, definitely get an ear swab done so you know exactly what’s going on.
