  1. Why not? It’s an opportunity to voice your opinion and share your knowledge; and also, to hear something that might spur you on to greater heights.

  2. Dear Dr. Andrew,

I have some of your DVD’s and I believe you will do great on TV 🙂

Another big inspiration is Cesar Milan (the Dog Whisperer) who also uses ‘the tool TV’ to spread his knowledge. So if it works for him, why not for you?

Go for it! And hopefully in future we can also watch the show here in The Netherlands, Europe.

    Kind regards,
    Patty

  3. Dear Dr Andrew

Why not go on TV? It is about time that the world sees how much good you are doing! and may be it is a wake up call for a lot of other vets? There will always be people who like it and not like it
but you can learn from there comments as much as from ours. Cesar Millan did it why not you?

  4. I would recommend taking the chance to use another media to get out the good word of pet health. It would be great to have access to the day time stay at home crowd. However, I would suspect you will not last long as kibble manufacturers, vets, drug companies, etc. will all band together and petition the show to have you removed. You are taking so many dollars out of their pockets, which I agree with.

  5. I say YRS-Do It!! More often, than not, it is Mom who is home taking care of the sick pet. Mom’s are supposed to know how to fix everything. Including ailing pets. It really IS a balancing act. But, as we get older, it just seems that Mom ends up with the bulk of nursing duties…even for the pets. I’m currently giving our (almost 20 yr.) cat thyroid medicine twice a day, along with pepcid for his stomach. I have a phosphorus binder that I must put into his food, three times a day. It is a lot of work, but he is a part of the family. And, I don’t consider it a chore…just an act of love. He’s been a part of this family for 19+ years, it is the least I can do, now that he needs help.

  6. You’re a natural Dr. Jones!!! You’ve already had extensive experience with this medium by having done your videos. This may be another opportunity to get your message out about “natural healing” for pets and you’ll make money at the same time. You’re also very photogenic which doesn’t hurt either – especially if your viewers are ladies. I say go for it.

  7. Oh yes please!! We need more informed people to help get the word out to the misinformed. I can`t tell you how disappointing it has been over the years to try and convince people they can ‘think’ for their animals!! Sometimes it seems like a losing battle…but if you can get just one persons ‘light bulb’ to go off in their head about the true meaning of ‘caring for your pets’ thats one more pet that gets a better life.

  8. By all means do go. I know you will do well and will enjoy it also. I know someone else who was on it and they have never regretted being there.

  9. Go for it!….Everyone needs to hear what you have to say…your books and daily emails have given me so much help; it would be great for TV watchers everywhere to benefit from your wealth of knowledge…because of you, I’m providing the very best natural care for my dogs and also letting everyone know who you are and what you can do for their pets….
Don’t hold back anything…tell it like it is!!!
    Good Luck!

  10. For sure ~ go for it! What a wonderful opportunity! You would be wonderful on live T.V. and it would really benefit all of us pet owners too. 🙂

  11. Please take the time to go on the show. The information you can impart regarding our pets is second to none in your field. It is important that more people become knowledgeable. It is a two way street. We can then help you to help us keep our pets healthy.
Keep up the great work, and DO IT!

  12. I think going on tv to promote holistic pet care would be wonderful. What a way to get holistic pet care known to the public. Then pet ownners have a choice – not just vacinnes, medications, etc. Think of all the pets and their owner that you will be helping and making healthy and happy. Opportunity only knocks once. Go for it!!!!!

  13. Good Morning Dr. Jones,

I can understand how you would like to keep your internet life as it is, but I think that it would be a great idea for you to go on this show and share your knowledge. I, myself, never thought about natural remedies for my pets until 2004 when my poodle started gaining weight and swelling up twice his size. I hit the internet looking for information to help and this is when I found you. After trying some of your suggestions, he lost weight (water gain) and his life was extended by over a year and I was able to get puppies from him before he passed. I feel that there are so many people out there that do not have the internet to use as an information source that would benefit from the advice you have to offer. Please share your love!

  14. I think you should do it. You have an opportunity to help a lot of people, all in the space of just a few minutes. What better way to spread your message about natural health care for our pets 🙂

  15. I understand enjoying the anonomyity factor, however, you could always try out the tv avenue and see how it goes! You have alot of great knowledge that many others would benefit from!!! Give it a try!! Hope we can seee teh show in the states!!

  16. I don’t think there will be anyone that says don’t do it, it’s the perfect way help more owners get their pets healthy naturally.

  17. Go for it Dr. Jones…you have too much wisdom not to share it to TV viewers! Who knows, you may get your own show down the line!

  18. Definitely a great idea. Let folks know there is an alternative — get the word out — and it won’t hurt your business, either! Go for it!

  19. I definitely think you should go on TV. So many people do not have access to the internet and miss all your valuable knowledge. I Would love to see you on TV. You are a miracle for our furry friends. Who knows what doors this could open up for you! You might be the next Dr. Oz for our pets.

  20. Go for it!! Everyone needs to know about natural healing for pets. They will listen to you because you’re a Vet. Hopefully, other Vets will listen as well and adapt to your ways. Obvioulsy, you truly care for our pets. I’d love to see you open the eyes of as many people as possible!

  21. Dr. Jones,
Most of the pet caretakers are women. I think this would be a good opportunity to get the word out that there are much better ways to take care of your pet than the usual conventional medicine. I have talked to several women who just refused to do anything different than go down the slippery slope of conventional treatments. Often, the pet just suffers because the totally unnatural, manufactured medicine just poisons their systems. Please use any opportunities you have to help spread the word. Be the voice the animals need to help stop their unnecessary suffering. Hopefully those watching the show the day you are on will listen and do the right thing for their pets.
God bless you, Dr. Jones, for all that you do.
    Jean Holley

  22. There is a danger with this type of show that it is so mixed and not specifically about animals. I am all in favour of TV but the right TV, I would be slightly wary

  23. I say go for it – I think it would be an important piece of information for women and would be appreciated.

  24. I agree – GO FOR IT!!! Exposure is a venue to let those out there who don’t know about you and the wonderful healthful news that you have to offer!

  25. I found you and your website by doing research before I brought my rescue Aussie/Collie home from Almost Home Dog Rescue. I had lost two wonderful dogs to autoimmune diseases and I wanted to prevent this from happening again if I could.
My vet strongly suspects the increase in environmental toxins in our area plus the lack of regulation within the pet food industry. He is recommending to all of his patients’ families to employ similar strategies you are promoting. If you have the chance to reach a wider audience with this information, you should do it. Hey, you might the Cesar Milan of pet health. But yes, you are wise to consider the sacrifice you may be called upon personally. I’d weigh in with what your family and close friends also advise you to do.

  26. What a great opportunity! You should definitely take it! Maybe you can bring a furry friend with you…

  27. Do it! I have two of your videos and what struck me most about them is how your good heart for animals comes through. You are the real deal when it comes to caring for pets and it shows.Imagine how refreshing would that be for the audience–
a real, practicing vet whose love for animals is unmistakable will WOW the audience.

It might be a little unnerving the first time but you have been on camera in your videos so you have some practice already.

Do it for all the animals that need what you have to offer. This is not the time to “hide your light
under a bushel”. I predict the audience will love you, especially if you just tell them you’re nervous and why. And, take Gussie with you and let her sit in your lap to keep you calm.

  28. I don’t know the show but I think that it will be very helpful to other dog owners who have never thought about the advantages of treating their pets in a natural way.
And for your own activity I think it will be very good and maybe will bring you new opportunities.
There is another side that is the way big companies are affected by your thoughts and activity and maybe will bring you some trouble.

  29. Anonymity is great but think of all the (pet) lives you could save. Most people don’t have a clue about healthy pet living, and a t.v. spot could reach so many people.

  30. No question about it, Dr. Jones. We and our “fuzzy kids” need you to share your valuable knowledge so they may survive and thrive.

Although you would do well, it’s not really about you per se [I do understand where you are coming from about the perception of anonymity via the internet] -> It IS about helping our furry friends who trust us with their care – and right now we’re not doing very well by them. You could reach so MANY more people through TV with less effort to spread your knowledge and thereby helping more of our furry friends.

So, JUST DO IT: for their sakes – and their lives.

  31. While not quite sure about the tone of The Balancing Act’s website, it is my opinion that the more exposure to holistic natural healthcare, be it for animals or humans, the better. As a health care professional, I have seen first hand the absurdities and abuses of conventional medicine. I have spent several years personally researching conventional medicine versus natural holistic medicine. Holistic medicine not only works (unlike conventional medicine), it is 99% safe without side effects (there are very few herbals that, when taken without a holistic or naturalist doctors supervision, can have some serious side effects). So I say go for it Doc!

  32. Interviewers often tend to rush you thru and interrupt!

Finish your comment and supply your contact info. any chance you get.

Be prepared and BE YOURSELF, like the laid back Doc you are.

  33. I think you should go for it! You are all about pets and pet health care. This very important information should be shared. I am very lucky that I found your website, learned and purchased your e-books. Please share this with people that don’t know about you or even have excess to a computer. Perhaps you can save a pets life, or even make one feel better..that in itself would be worth the shows visit! Just smile and don’t be nervous – We’ll all be wagging our tails for you.

  34. Definitely. Let the other vets know that treating our pets if we can without all sorts of drugs will lengthen their lives. This will let the vets that don’t support what you are doing realize that they are at the back of the pack with those of us who really want the best for our pets

  35. Please do it! You just might as well accept that we can’t keep a really good thing a secret for long; you are THAT good!!

I agree with Kim: be aware that the interviewer will rush you; it is her/his job. Don’t be taken off-message, just plod along with whatever you wish to express. The more relaxed you are, the more “balanced” you will be perceived to be — your true nature, too.

One thing I do to help my two Yorkie boys relax (and me, too — balancing all of us…) is to hold one at a time in my lap while drinking my morning coffee. I close my eyes (no TV during this) and slowly massage him while I imagine feeling it in my own back, neck, wherever I am rubbing him. We all relax. It starts the day off in a soothing way so we can better handle whatever the world brings us. Talk about “balancing” with your pet(s)!

You will be great. Trust us.

  36. Yes – I think you should do it. Many people don’t have a clue there is any natural treatment for a pet that is not well. They just accept the medications offered and learn the hard way some have deadly side effects. You can help to educate the public and as a vet people will listen to you.

  37. I BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT NATURAL THINGS THAT CAN HELP THEIR PETS AND THAT DRUGS ARE NOT THE ANSWER TO DIFFERT DISEASES. THE DRUGS ALL HAVE SIDE EFFECTS AND CAN KILL THE ANIMAL. THE NATURAL THINGS LIKE HERBS AND VITAMINS HAVE NO SIDE EFFECTS. MANY ANIMALS COULD BE DOING ALOT BETTER WITH OUT ALL THE TOXIC DRUGS. THE PROBLEM WITH ALL OF THIS IS FOLLOW THE MONEY. WE HAVE A PROBLEM IN ARIZONA WITH VALLEY FEVER AND MANY OF THE ANIMALS AND PEOPLE ARE DYING FROM THIS. THEY GAVE ARE DOG COTTON A DRUG THAT SHUT DOWN HIS LIVER. THE DOCTOR DID NOT KEEP CHECKING HIS BLOOD FOR THE LIVER. HE ONLY CHECKED HIM FOR THE VALLEY FEVER. THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE SOUTHWEST EVERYONE HAS A CHANCE TO GET THIS THROUGH THE DUST OF THE EARTH. THIS IS A TERRIBLE DISEASE. WE ARE BEING VERY CAREFUL WITH OUR NEW POODLE. I REALLY HOPE THE BEST FOR YOU AND HOPE YOU WILL TELL THINGS LIKE THEY ARE AND NOT BE TOLD WHAT YOU CAN SAY.

  38. You should DEFINITELY do it! ANY exposure holistic veterinary care can get is GREAT, and FREE exposure is even better! 😉 You’ll do great, and it will educate people to the fact that there ARE healthy, natural alternatives to traditional (toxic) Western medicine.

  39. it is a very personal decision. one has to keep in mind how things get misrepresented, how tv editing often distorts the truth. i was approached by a major network a while back to film a show at my upscale [dog training] facility. i thought about it, and i declined. for my own personal reasons, primarily because of privacy issues. most people have such a distorted views about tv. they believe what they see and have no idea about how producers push the envelope, how everything is edited heavily to make for “good tv”.
one good example is cesar milan, whom someone mentioned here. you will not find a single certified veterinarian behaviourist who endorse cesar’s outdated, aversive, often downright dangerous methods. makes for great tv when a charming trainer suppresses behaviors by using dominance and old [haggerty] style dominance based training, reinvented training from 40 years ago. sad for me and truly positive trainers to see this. but in all fairness, the ‘average’ dog owner does not know… and it makes for great tv.

  40. Please do it Dr. Andrew Jones we need more vet to speak up about this, but do be aware it may cause you some grief, as many of your peers will not like what you are doing, it is always hard going against mainstream, but we really need to do it if we are to continue as a human race.

  41. Dr. Jones, By all means, be a part of the tv show. Pets are such an important part of our lives, that your expertise would be much appreciated. Since the program is geared towards women, so much the better. Not only are we the main care givers to our family, but also to our pets. So, definitely, say “yes” to the tv opportunity.

  42. Dr. Jones, you would be such a hit with the ladies in TVland, just as you are with EVERYONE in your internet circle! Go for it!

  43. Yes, you should take this opportunity and do it. Your information is very much needed as is your Supplements and the more exposure to the public the better.

  44. I’ve done a lot of that. It’s a lot of fun. Wear bright solid colors for the cameras, or a bright shirt under your “vet” smock. Figure out ahead of time the three things that you feel are the most important for your audience to know: I recommend choosing: “The information is available, your pet will be healthier for it, and YOU CAN DO IT!” and make sure your answers/contributions support whatever your top three messages are. Because that’s about all an audience ever remembers. It’s always good to have a show-and-tell and very few people know what homeopathy is, so that would be a good one, including how simple it is to dose. Bring Louis if you can. They’ll probably let you.

  45. I think you’ll be GREAT!.. GO FOR IT!
I think you’d have alot of fun, and help so many people.. pets are quite involved, people would appreciate your ‘tips and advice’ for sure! And HUGELY appreciated are tips to help pets at home,,especially these days when people are a bit tight financially..
Our vet here in Calgary (Dr. Schell from Bow Bottom Vet) goes on to the Breakfast Show every month and talks about important matters, often issues of current concern,, like spring time giardia and parasites etc.. She also gets her patients to bring in their pets as well.. every show she’s got someone’s furball or feathered friend on with her.. my three Beagles were on TeeVee once with her,, talking about summer time and keeping cool with items to help and such, I bought a PUPsicle in.. a kit I bought,, made one night before and brought it on the show with us,, my one here was ‘on it’ licking away,, my other two were quiet and jsut sat smiling.. she brought in a cat a well.. it sat on the announcers lap, then crawled up around her shoulders, kind of funny to see her with all this kitty activity and talking – keeping a straight face..:) Great fun for pet owners to show up with (and show off) their pets,, humans not on camera tho.. just the ‘pet celebrates’ and Dr. Schell (thank goodness.. haha )
..its a sign that you were asked to do this.. so DO THIS 🙂

  46. Go for it. You’d be great and you have important information that all poet owners NEED to hear. By the way, Dr.Liz gave great advice!!

  47. By the way, our Vet Dr. Schell is like you, she too also administers alternative healing .. herbal TCM and Acupuncture, and is also going in for vet chiropractor in September.. she talks about so many things on that show and people I have met have watched her and learned so much.
Please do this show.. camera shy or not.. ya jus’ gotta! 🙂

  48. I can understand your hesitation re:the issue of loosing your privacy once you go on T.V. but on the other hand just think of all the people and animals you could help. Not everyone is computer savvy and may not hear about you and your great work otherwise. Maybe it’s not right we keep you all to ourselves any longer. 🙂 Time for bigger and better things! I think they are going to love you because you are caring and down to earth. I say “Go for it!”

  49. I think it’s a GREAT idea to do the show…your videos are so informative and you will be reaching people that haven’t even heard of you and your home care of pets before. You are much like my vet, promoting the home diet and message therapy & pet maintenance. My dogs are 13 and have been eating homemade dog food since they were three and are healthier than my friend’s dogs. So please, do the show for the people that have not been given a choice yet by their vet. AND…it’s always a good way to promote your vitamins and such….:-)

  50. About Antje-Alpha Pet Dog Training, and how they edit shows for good TV, I agree, I think tho’ it depends on the show, and if you are ‘live’ at the studio, no editing is done, is a short segment time, I think about 9 minutes.. if its like Breakfast Television (sorry, I’ve never seen this Womans show, ) Good advice from Antje tho’, make sure your stuff is NOT edited for health and safety reasons.. for sure..

  51. Absolutely, do it. Your information is right on. I referred to your book just last week for my 9 pound bichon frise. After being unable to get a timely appointment with a veterinarian…I was considering a phone visit with you, I studied your text for symptoms and procedures. Implementing your suggestions, within 24 hours she was completely better. Good luck on TV!

  52. Andrew, what’s to think about? You would be a fool not to. Look at Cesar!!! Your love of animals and your passion of curing the sick should be helping people without computers as well. Get your message out there!!! The satisfaction of knowing that you are getting your message out would be unbelievable. Once on there, you would probably get onto different talk shows etc… The world would soon know about the online vet. Go for it and all the power to you!!!

  53. GO FOR IT DOCTOR JONES!!!! DEFINITELY!!!!! I FEEL THAT THE TIME HAS COME THAT HUMANS KNOW EVERYTHING THEY CAN KNOW ABOUT HOLISTIC MEDICINE AND HOW THESE WAYS CAN TRULY HELP BOTH THEMSELVES AND THEIR PETS. CHEMICAL DRUGS ARE NOT THE ONLY “ANSWER” TO DISEASE “CURES”. CHEMICAL DRUGS ALL HAVE MASSIVE SIDE EFFECTS AND/OR CAN KILL. NATURAL THINGS LIKE HERBS AND VITAMINS HAVE NO REAL LIFE ALTERING SIDE EFFECTS WHEN USED PROPERLY. MANY ANIMALS WOULD BE LIVING THEIR LIFE SO MUCH BETTER BY LIVING WITHOUT ALL THE TOXIC DRUGS THAT EVERYDAY VETS TALK THE HUMAN INTO GIVING THEM–INCLUDING VACCINATIONS. I KNOW, MYSELF, TO BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN I FEED MY CATS DIATOMACEOUS EARTH (SINCE IT’S ACTUALLY TINY TINY GLASS THAT KILLS PARASITES INTERNALLY AND EXTERNALLY)AND THINGS LIKE THE AMOUNT OF CHICKEN LIVER I FEED ALL 4 OF MY CATS DUE TO THE LIVER’S VITAMIN A CONTENT.(FAT SOLUABLE VITAMIN) I REALLY HOPE THE BEST FOR YOU AND THAT YOU’LL TELL THINGS JUST LIKE THEY ARE AND NOT BE TOLD WHAT YOU CAN SAY

  54. I say Go For It!!! It can’t hurt and will possibly introduce you to a lot of peoplel; who will in turn be more knowledgeable about their pets.

    Good luck!

  55. Dr. Andrew,
Being on TV has its pros and cons. That is probably why you are facing a dilemma. It is good to be informed about natural pet care. I am ALL FOR IT ! However, the backlash from other Vets and the dog food and pet manufacturers who don’t believe in natural healing might present a lot of heat. I don’t have a TV so I wouldn’t be able to watch the show if you did it anyway. If you decide to do it, could you post it on You Tube?
I guess my answer is not a concrete one. I used to be in to herbs and natural remedies – Big Time. Then, the drug companies came in and tried to outlaw all the natural remedies. Some even bought up the patents on certain products and then marketed them themselves. I don’t know what to say. You can either go by popular opinion or follow your OWN heart and gut instincts. You know all about the inside story, being a Vet. Do whatever you think is best for YOU!

  56. Dr. Jones,
I do understand wanting to keep your anonymity. But at the same time you have a bigger purpose in a great opportunity to enlighten many people who are not aware. Being from California, and growing up with a parent who was open to new things, holistic medicine, food combining etc. I was very fortunate but middle America, is completely unaware. I really had no idea, how unhealthy America was until I went to a very well known amusement park and same the common Joe. If people aren’t taking care of themselves…then imagine how their pets are suffering. My suggestion is do the show, and make sure you hire someone in PR to field calls, your image, emails and correspondence so you can still keep that anonymity or personal life that you seek. Also, the lifetime network is a paid network, so it’s not the same as being on a National station. Anyway, please keep up the good work, I am veraciously searching to get to the bottom of my 10 year old Chow Chows hair loss around her neck and the flanks of her back legs…I am feeding her RAW and organic, she has been to the vet and it isn’t Thyroid or Cushings. She’s not lethargic and doesn’t drink mass amounts…so I am at a standstill… I am thinking of taking her to an internist or a dermatologist. Any suggestions? I also just ordered the canine supplement…maybe she’s not getting enough of her nutrients?

  57. I just read one of the notes above about Cesar. Don’t know why I hear so much negativity about him. What he does works. It works very well, and the pet is not being cruely treated. They have to have a leader, they are “animals”. Once you show your dominance in a good way “Cesar’s Way” then you have the dogs respect and love. Everyone knows someone with a little dog that is overprotective of their owner, that is a problem and he teaches how to stop the behavior. He does know what he is doing and I think he is great. Just one example. A little off topic, but I had to comment.

  58. Your “Gift” has made room for you, so expand. Go for it, God has opened this door for you. Enjoy the media, learn to use it for the good of all pets and owners, have FUN with educating and empowering (hate those buzz words).

The animal kingdom and those DUMB people making videos (marrying a cat!) will thank you. The killer beavers may picket in protest though, so beware of the beavers!

PS: Are the shows available online?

  59. I’ll just add my encouragement to all the others! Go for it! More folks need to know about healthy ways to care for their pets. Oops! I just read the above comment, and she’s got a valid point. You DO have a dilemma…..

  60. It’s about time the general public was educated regarding holistic veterinary treatments. We’ve all had the shows starring conventional vets and although I enjoy watching them and will continue to do so, I’d much prefer one on my fave subject. So Dr Andrew all the best on your new adventure.

  61. I strongly advise it, I know that you will do an excellent job. It is a good thing for people to know how to properly care for their own pets. Ever since I started receiving your e-mails I basically take care of my own dog. I clean her ears, I clip her nails, I bathe her myself,I check her regularly for ticks and other signs of things that could lead to illness. I used to be afraid to care for her myself. Now I’m confident. For example, I know the signs of an ear infection coming up so I follow your directions. We never had any problems with ear infections ever since I know you. I think the more people that know about you the better. And I’m sure that other “Good Vets” will follow you. Best of luck!

  62. Hi Dr. Jones,

You should definitely do it! Spread the great “news” that you have!! There couldn’t be a better way to do it! I love you being on the Internet, but you will reach more people using the TV. Please don’t forsake the Internet though. Being in the States, I would not get that program…

    Cindy

  63. If you have time for this segment on the TV show then go for it. At least give it a try letting them know you will test the water first to see how well a fit it is for all involved. Sometimes taking baby steps leads to solid footing. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! I always sleep on a big decision a night or two until I have peace about it. Then, I go with it regardless of what other well meaning people say.

    Good Luck and God Bless!

  64. Yes, do it. I would watch it more so than reading a book! Plus we ladies would like to see more of you!!
Love your information. Wish you were in Kelowna!

  65. Oh, just go for it. More people need to know your thoughts and holistic ways. (I haven’t read any ‘no’ comments)!

  66. Please do this for those who know nothing about the bad pet foods they are feeding, thinking yearly shots are needed, and nutrition, including your supplements. I found you by searching the internet, and I know many, senior’s especially, who do not have or want that access. I am amazed how many people tell me they want to know more, and do not know how to get the information I share with them. You are a natural to be on TV, that and your love of pets will be a perfect match for it.The more people you reach the safer our pet’s will be, and live longer to bring us their unconditional love and loyalty. Thanks Dr. Jones, please do this for all those. I hope you will also advertise your supplement, along with your customers comments on how it has helped. Just don’t stop doing your wonderful internet site, and emails for those of us in the good old USA. We need you!

  67. You have to do it. I talk about you all the time. The more exposure you get, the more people will believe me, too. I even tell my vet and pet store owners about you. We need more Doctors like you. Please do this for all the people and pets who believe in YOU!

  68. The general public needs a wake up call. You are teaching people how to take better care of their companions and the public needs to be informed. I have been caring for my pets “Naturally” for years and the proof is their longevity, 17 to 20 years!!! By taking better care of our companions we might take better care of ourselves. True, you might anger those who feed off of the less informed, but they could also learn something too. By going “Public” maybe the people we talk to might understand better what we mean by “Being in touch with your pet”.

  69. go ahead and do it – just think of all the good that might come out of you helpong people with their pets – your advice is really good and just might be what some pet owners need to hear!!!

  70. I say like all the others, the more people hear of alternative methods to keeping a dog healthy, the more likely they are to try them. Our pet owners have been so conditioned to only one way of treating animals just as many of our vets have been as well. I think you present yourself well in front of a camera, your down to earth and make things understandable for the average consumer and to boot, you are nice looking. (I am not flirting. I am married too. But is sure can’t help for women to be looking a some good looking vet instead of some overweight bald guy. Anyway, go for it.It is an opportunity that should not be passed on. You may kick yourself for not doing it. I only wish we could see it here in the US.

  71. I would LOVE to see you do this…but on the right show. I am not familiar with this show and if it isn’t done right, it will make you look like an eccentric dufas. But, you have VERY loyal followers…I am one of them…and don’t care how THEY make you look. You are genuine and even though my vet friends don’t agree with you…I will stand by you. We use the same advice for our children, no shots and no medicine…just chiropractic and naturual healing. Just do it for the exposure and see what happens.

  72. I think you’d be great and help so many animals and their owners with alternative methods. Please do this!

  73. Definetely should go for it… I’ve learned so much, ans I’m sure the people watching the show will, too

  74. I would definitely use the opportunity to acquaint viewers with a revolutionary notion. We all should be familiar with the fact that dogs, cats, and other pets deserve our love and the best care possible. But that should come from a respect for them as moral persons first. And once we acknowledge that, it should not be a huge leap to acknowledge that all animals deserve that same respect. And that respect should include one most basic right – not to be exploited (used) as property or resources… whether that use be for food, clothing, entertainment, the making of household products, and yes, even as pets.

I know, I can hear the outrage at the mere suggestion we should abolish pets but I assure you if you do the research, you will understand that, by our exploitation over centuries, we have turned once free and wild animals into sorry, often weaken, mere shadows of their former splendour and all totally dependent on humans for their survival. The pet industry, through breeders and many other stakeholders, seeks financial gain by continuing this exploitation. And as you know, every year millions of these animals end up being horribly abused, neglected, or dumped in shelters where *most* end up euthanized. Then there is the multi-billion dollar international pet food industry, which is basically an offshoot of our own cruel and manipulative “food animal” exploitation.

Needless to say, I think it is our moral obligation to *adopt* companion animals whenever and wherever possible. But it is also our moral obligation to not cause any others to be brought into existence.

With some reflection and research on the subject of Abolition, everyone can determine the most obvious and easiest way to show respect to all animals is by adopting a Vegan worldview, and that means not just a diet.

I highly recommend researching the work of Professor Gary L. Francione at http://www.abolitionistapproach.com/ The site has searchable blog essays, links to his books, audio/video presentations and interviews, podcast commentaries, and a lot more. Over the last 30 years Professor Francione has developed his “Abolitionist” theory of Animal Rights and you will see his arguments for Veganism as a moral baseline make a lot of sense.

Dr. Jones, I hope you will consider looking into this monumental but necessary social paradigm shift in the near future. And just maybe some of it could be touched on in this TV interview. It will definitely spark some needed thought and dialogue.

    Thank you for your consideration.

  75. Go for it. I am in Australia and we have shows like this over here and I find that the Vet segments can be very informative and I feel sure that you would have a great input into this show. You can get knowledge out there to people who might not be able to take their animals to the vet for various reasons and this would be great for them.

  76. I say go for it. I have gotten lots of very useful information both from the emails you send out and on your website. I also have some of your videos. I think it is great that you are willing to share information in order to help pets and there owners.

I do understand though should you decide not to do it.

  77. Speaking as someone who is old enough to be your mother, I have to say I enjoy the video presentations. I use the supplement as well for my dog, and I believe in your ideas about food, vaccinations, and holistic advice. I am in the US so likely will not be able to see the program on Tv here much to my disappointment. You are pleasant to listen too as well as to look at, so take the opportunity to do this so many people will be able to make more informed decisions regarding their pet’s health. Best wishes to you and yours.
    make better decisions and

  78. Yes Dr Jones I think it’s a great idea to share your advice and help people treat there pets at home.

  79. Hi Dr. Andrews,

Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss, I think you should absolutely do this… You’d become more well lknown, but most of all be helping a tonne of more pet owners who need your HELP in may areas. Which you have done on your site already. However, TV will reach a lot more people that would benefit from your truthful way of thinking about pet care…and what to do in many instances. Which I personally have found to be very HELPFUL. You ROCK Dr. Andrews and I can’t wait to see you on Lifetime in the near future. Best of Luck in this new endeavor.
    Best Wishes

  80. Do it. You need to reach people about what they can do to help their animals. With all the problems of loosing jobs, no money, they need ways to help their pets.

  81. I say go for it, but just don’t let your TV stardom go to your head and make yourself out of reach to all of us that follow your wisdom and advise online.

  82. You should really go, Dr. Andrew Jones. Think of how widely you can spread your good influence to those who can’t access to your videos and ebooks via Internet.

Though, like Terri says, I suspect that you’ll have a bit of a conflict with the companies producing those products which you disapprove so strongly of.

    But I say “DO IT”.

  83. I think it’s a great idea. Alot of people do not have access to a computer, so this would help them. Skip the hype, and give them the info they need and want. Good luck and thanks for all you do.

  84. i think you would do ok on tv i love getting help and tips from you if you can help others do it.you have helped me alot with mine there are some other that can use help too you will do get go for it.

  85. Go for it, can reach so many more people and honestly it is usually mom who does the work of caring for kids and pets. Maybe do special spots for kids as that is where to start meaningful education. Good Luck, Sadie

  86. I think you should do it. Your videos are very informative and I think you be an added benefit for your viewers.

  87. Do it — not everyone has a computer believe it or not and a lot of people cannot afford to buy videos and dvds. It would be good for them to have some free information coming to them through television and, I’m sure, it won’t hurt your image either.

  88. I agree with the comments above encouraging you to do the TV program. Money is a big problem in this day and age. Many people have no choice but to give up their pets or have them put to sleep. That’s sad. So with your help, more pets will live longer, happier lives. Go for it!

  89. Your advice is so valuable as well as being sincere, I believe it would be beneficial to so many people who might not spend time on the internet. I say definitely accept the invitation to appear on the show.

  90. yes I think it would be a great Idea for you to be on a talk show you can reach new people this way, and help there pets. best of luck

  91. Oh what the heck! Just go-4-it! ;D
You’ll be great! You have important information for animal lovers, just think how many more animals will benefit from your appearance.
    Break a leg…

  92. DITTO. AND THINK OF ALL THE PRODUCT YOU WILL SELL, ONCE PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT YOU. MAYBE YOU’LL BE ABLE TO LOWER THE PRICES-AND I WILL BE ABLE TO GET EVERYTHING OF YOURS THAT I WANT (THE MANUAL)

  93. What is it that really has you scared, or conteplating? You have an awesome word to get out to people. I recently, July 19, had to put my 25 year old spanial mix to sleep. She had eaten a wonderful dinner and took two steps towards the water dish and was struck with old dog vistibular syndrome. Her balance was gone, her eyes darted back and forth. She was in a panic. It was after veterinary hours. I made the diagnosis. The next day she exhibited all the same symptoms. I have your course and frantically looked for ways to help her. I would have so much rather she went from here to the next realm from home. I would love for you to reach out to people everywhere. We know our animals best, and you can teach us how to love them totally, to the best of our abilities, until the end. Go for it.

  94. I have to agree with the rest of the animal lovers here. Think you should participate in the show to enlighten people of the possible dangers to their companions health should they blindly follow old ways. I know I’m trying to do better by my four-legged friends through the info from your course, using your supplements and the fact that you also learned there are other ways to help keep the furry ones healthy. Good Luck with this endeavour.

  95. If you go on tv, please emphasis people feeding their dogs organic raw meat, bones, & vegies. I am dismayed when I read your emails telling people to feed canned & kibble. In the long run, it is MUCH cheaper than paying the vet to deal with all the health problems that result from not eating REAL Food. That’s why we do it even though we are very low income, we figure we come out ahead in the long run. Plus of course, we want our pets to be as healthy & happy as possible.People need to hear that it is vitally important for their pets to eat real food & going on tv would allow you to spread that message to thousands of people. And, it’s a different approach than what most vets take, so it gives you an advantage in that you’re not just repeating the same old stuff people have always heard. Here’s an example why organic is important. We ran out of the organic grass fed beef we usually feed our dogs & in an emergency got some regular beef. The dogs got severe diahrea, & became extremely attention deficit for the rest of the day, all from ONE meal! You have the potential of influencing for the better, the lives of thousands of pets by encouraging owners to feeld raw & organic. Go For IT!

  96. YES, By all means DO IT! It’s exposure for you and who knows where this may lead to or doors that normally wouldn’t be open~in today’s environment, it’s all about marketing yourself via all avenues.

How do you think the various ‘whisperers’ got their notariety? In these recessionary times, it’s good to get syndicated (and help others too)!

  97. I think you should go ahead and do it! This is an opportunity for you to reach a lot more people which will be beneficial both to you and your business and to all those people out there that need your much needed advice to help them with their beloved pets. May I ask for your autograph now before you get too famous and have a celebrity persona. All the best and I will look forward to watching you on T.V.

  98. I think it would be great to have you on TV, as has been said already, alot of people need to get your information on alternative medicine for pets. Traditional medicine is okay for some things but if an alternative natural substance can work it is much better for our pets. Thanks for all your helpful tips.

  99. Well, you’ve certainly been a blessing to my dog, Harvey. I’ve learned an awful lot from you, find you very comical, very real and natural (in every sense of the word)and I might add that you’re very cute too. Your techniques are a relief making me feel so much better knowing that the natural way is practiced and encouraged by a DVM. If you feel ready to take this extra leap, I vote that you go for it with blessings from all of us.

  100. Hello Doc,
My first thought is you have to follow your heart….you are a sensitive person with your own unique needs……maybe you need your privacy to flourish, look how much you have accomplished with balancing your needs and your desires. But you also have a mission……to teach people how to best care for their pets that God has so generously given us and you need to examine how much that mission means to you and what you are willing to sacrice to fullfill that mission. Talk it over with your wife…..she is the one who really merits in opinion too. So in a nutshell it is the realization of your mission here and how you decide to manifest it.
What ever you decide……May God bless you and may angels stand by your side to guide you and protect you!
    Mrs. Irene Borkton

  101. I think that it will be a great oppurtunity not only for you but the public as well. You offer great advice and I beleive are one of the few Vets that take other approachs to the health and safety of our animals. Especially when it comes to the nutrition of animals and the supplements they need, and how people need to get on board and have more say in the lives of their animals. I love your videos and all your info. Keep up the great work:)

  102. You are a Great Dr. and you have our pets best at heart. If you feel comfortable doing this, GO FOR IT. You have been a great help to me and my cats. You have a wealth of knowledge that needs to be heard. I thank God for you. Keep up the excellent work.
    Blessings, Judith

  103. Go for it! A lot of animals will benefit. Only drawback is that I probably wont get to see it, since I am way down here in Florida!

  104. Dr. Jones, go for it! Don’t worry about your current, amateurish presentation on your videos because the show’s producers and directors will “sharpen you up” for the cameras, including voice and content coaches, make-up, hair styling, clothing consultation, etc. Best wishes!

  105. I know this was supposed to be for the ladies only, but none of them are saying what they should be, so take it from an old man.
Come on now doc, no false modesty needed now, get in there and do it for your career’s sake, as cute as you are and with that Canadian accent that we Americans love so much you will probably won’t have time for the internet anymore, you’ll become the new Small screen sensation, THE TV VET.
Go for it and have fun, thanks again for everyone of us you have helped.

    Tubby, Crash, Sasha and Bill

  106. I think it is a great opportunity to share with the public the vast natural remedies you know and use daily in your practise. The public is not knowledgeable about the natural remedies. They only know what their vets tell them. Those with pets of all kinds need to know there are alternatives to the flea, heartworm and even vaccinations that their vets tell them their pet’s need. You are a expert in the field of natural medicine. Share the wealth of information you have proven that works. I will be praying for you.

  107. Using media to share your wide knowledge and advice about natural remedies and alternative health options for animals is better than limiting your reach to a small group on your list. I believe that many others who would not otherwise receive your information could benefit by such exposure. DO IT!!

  108. Go for it Doc, the exposure would be great. You could be the holistic Jack Hanna with your knowledge!

  109. If you would do anything, anywhere to improve the health of one animal, why wouldn’t you do one thing in one place to impact the quality of life for many animals? You need to make it about the animals, not you.
I was so excited by your program i paid full price for it when it was new. It was worth every penny. I study natural medicine for myself, my family and my dogs. They are my most willing test subjects. Thanks for all you do.

  110. I think you would do great on T.V. You could be the animals answer to Dr. Oz. A lot of people don’t know about alternative medicenes other than what the vet tells them. I think your advice and homeopathic medicenes are great. Your cute, and funny and very imformed and knowledgeable.
You should be on every week or every other week.
You will do just great. Good luck

  111. By all means, go on TV and have Lewis and Cleo on TV too. Maybe you’d get your own TV show and Lewis should have his own show too. Cleo could have her own TV show too. They could call it, “What’s new Pussycat?”

  112. of course!!! the more people are educated from a wonderful caring vet the better they will take care of there furry friends!!!!!

  113. If you can do it without fear of being edited; if you can do it without it becoming a drain on you, given what you have been through recently; if you can do it without it interfering with keeping your practice the way you want it, then, by all means, GO FOR IT!
You have a lot of wisdom to impart, and people need to hear some alternatives to the “status quo” ;o)

  114. Hi Andrew
don’t see why not its good to get another view on good animal husbandry like why we don’t need the feed commercial food we can feed them perfectly well our self’s and it will still be balanced or over vaccinating our pets yes go for it
    Morag & All the feet

  115. I would go for it. I purchased the hard copy of your BIG BOOK as I can’t stand scrolling through
ebooks. But I not only give my two little Poms your supplement, I provide it for my physio’s dog too. I buy your feline stuff for my daughter’s cat and give it to another friend for her cat.
I took my two boys for a check-up as both had had raised protein, creatinine levels etc before but both are now in excellent health.

  116. I think this would be a great opportunity to teach that good health begins with a happy, well balanced attitude, which pets learn from happy, well balanced owners. Pat

  117. Dearest Dr. Andrew, our voiceless companion animals need you to tell the whole world about vaccines overload on their immune systems, poor-quality commercial food, harmful effects of some medications etc. Please empower other animal guardians like you did for us to follow your holistic approach to the emotional, physical and nutritional needs of our companion animals. I am very grateful for your easy-to-follow resources that provide better, more natural approaches for my companion cats’ health. Many Blessings!

  118. I find that people who are addicted to Meds often are over medicating their pets also. Maybe if you can get through to them about their four leggeds, they will have a more natural approach to their own health. Anyway, ANY of your wonderful info you can get out there,DO IT! Love your emails and look forward to them with eager anticipation. Thank you for your wonderful work.

  119. Joining my voice to the other votes for a strong YES! People making a move toward healthier lifestyles for themselves & their families appreciate being able to make informed choices for their pets too.

  120. Why not? The more people who know the right way to take care of their animals, the better the animals will be and the longer we will have our companions with us. So I say spread the “word” about alternate medicine and lets give our pets the long life they deserve!! And don’t be nervous, cause it shows…….Good luck.
