Lessons from Steve Job’s life
Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, died 2 days ago at a very young age, 56.
My brother Michael has been a long time computer guy, and I recall him having one of the very first Apple computers back in the 1970’s…
Back when I didn’t get the computer thing..’what is the point?’
And now here I am with an ipod, iphone, and internet business very much impacted by Steve Jobs.
Mr Jobs was unfortunately diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 7 years ago, but was able to successfully battle the disease this long.
It’s a very difficult disease to treat- in people and pets.
Surgery is not usually an option, and once diagnosed, most animals live less than 1 year.
In one Alternative news article, I read how they claim that Steve Job’s life was shortened due to him choosing conventional treatment-chemotherapy and radiation.
First I consider that to be in poor taste, and secondly, I would dispute their claim.
Could have alternative options made a difference?
Yes, but 7 years is a long time to live after having such a devastating cancer…In fact if a dog were to live any where near that length after pancreatic cancer, it would almost be considered miraculous.
Ultimately it’s up to us to make healthy choices for BOTH our pets and OURSELVES to hopefully prevent cancer in the first place.
In thinking of my Dad dying of bladder cancer, one British study found that the rate of bladder cancer could be reduced by 50% IF people chose 3 different things…
1. NO smoking/tobacco
2. Better diet, MORE fruits and vegetables
3. MORE water, so less chance for toxins to concentrate in the bladder
I suspect that Steve Jobs was a fairly healthy guy, and ate well- he didn’t smoke..
Unfortunately, sometimes you can do ALL the right things, and end up with the disease anyway..
SO then it comes down to doing WHAT you can to prevent this and other serious diseases, and living life in the present.
Cause you just NEVER know
Thank You Steve Jobs for making a difference.
Dr Andrew
Here is his Stanford Commencement Video in which he imparts some impactful words of wisdom
Thanks for this information, it was good of you to comment about Steve Jobs, however There has been a cure for Cancer for years, and the big Pharmaceutical companies have had it banned, and suppressed since about 1922, See Professor Brian Peskins book the hidden cure for cancer, and there are many other ways to totally cure cancer, like Can-ibis Oil! It is made by a guy in Nova Scotia, and is easy to find on the Internet, although the Authorities have now attacked him, and forced a closure of his activities, Lets get real, they knew how to cure cancer back in 1921.
Thanks Doc for adding that, there are so many lessons we can learn from his life and the world was so lucky to have this man on earth, he will be missed.
Stay hungry stay foolish! Brilliant!! What a loss! What a legacy! Steve Jobs..may his soul rest in peace!
Thank you for sharing Steve Jobs’ Stanford Commencement Video – an amazing life – an amazing spirit! It should be required watching in every High School!
Thanks for the video. Tremendously sad.
But, of course in my humble opinion, no more so than our general disconnection from our daily exploitation of animals and lack of awareness of our moral obligation to become Vegan.
Hi Dr. Jones,
Thank you for sharing this most impacting speech I’ve ever heard. If it weren’t for YOU, I probably wouldn’t have ever heard it. He will be missed, to state it mildly…
Thank YOU once again,
Mary Lou
Dr. Jones,
Thank you so much for sharing Steve Jobs Commencement Speech. This man was truly amazing! Just goes to show how far you can make it in life with common sense, goals and a positive attitude!! If it weren’t for Steve Jobs, I wouldn’t be sitting behind one of my many computers writing this comment. I have and always will have the utmost respect for him!!
RIP. Only the good die young.
I also agree with the first commentor. There are natural cures for cancer that have been around for decades & supressed by the FDA & Big Pharma because it is NOT PROFITABLE.
It’s a shame that after decades of Fund raising by the American Cancer Society that today, BY LAW, the ONLY protocol for treatment acceptable in the US is Surgery(mutilation), Chemotherapy(poison) & Radiation(cooking). None of which are CURES!
These protocols do nothing to address prevention or reversal of disease.
Cures will NEVER come from synthetics created in a laboratory.
However, there is hope. The body innately wants & will heal itself given the chance & proper nutrition.
Thank you, Dr. Jones for your article about Steve Jobs, he was an amazing person, a perfectionist and he died way too young. I understand he had a liver transplant and maybe that is what kept him alive so long. I am skeptical about chemotherapy and radiation therapy and I do believe that a cure for cancer is out there, was found years ago, but will not be brought to light because that would put the pharmaceutical companies out of business, wouldn’t it now. Yes, it is true that a healthy diet, a healthy lifestyle will help improve your chances of not getting cancer, but then again there are many who still get the dreaded disease anyway. Bladder cancer is a horrible disease also. I have known several people who have had pancreatic cancer and they are usually dead within 4-6 months after the diagnosis, and at a young age too.
Thank you for all your articles about dogs and cats, healthy food, healthy advise and treatment. I now feed our 5 year old black labrador a complete Wellness diet and she is a healthier dog and still as playful as ever. I have yet to find a good cat food though that my two cats will eat, but in changing foods my 16 year old diabetic Siamese is now down to 5 units of insulin daily instead of 14, so good food does make a difference. Keep up your great work and your articles, you are a brilliant man and your love for animals shows through each article. Thank you again and take care.
What I don’t respect is Apple out sourcing their products to China when Steve Jobs would have still been very wealthy if they made their products in the good ole USA. After all they price their products like they’re made in the USA.
My father died from pancreatic cancer in April 1998.
He was diagnosed the day of Princess Diana’s funeral in September 1997. It was the worst 8 months of my life. The helplessness one feels against this disease is overwhelming.
I read that Mr. Jobs had a “rare” form of “survivable” pancreatic cancer. How true that was I have no idea. I also read he did avail himself to alternative treatments but nothing was specified in the article…and who’s to know if that was true. It’s a sure bet oncologists and their harsh regimens wreck and kill you even before the cancer will. My heart goes out to his family, for having to watch him go through this. I know how they must feel.
Steve Jobs died way too young, especially these days when lots of people are living well into their 90’s and many past 100.
He will be sorely missed in his industry and by all who admired him and his accomplishments.
