Benefits of Vitamin E
Vitamin E has a wealth of benefits to your pets – it is a fat-soluble vitamin that mainly acts as an antioxidant, and repels free radicals in the body. It’s an important ingredient that is included in Dr. Jones Ultimate Feline and Canine Formulas.
Free radicals can damage cells, which has been shown to lead to issues such as: cancer, vision loss, advanced aging, skin problems such as eczema. It can also boost the immune system, and lessen the probability of eye and muscle degeneration. It will also help with giving a shiner and healthier coat!
Just a few more of the benefits of ingesting Vitamin E are:
- Supplies oxygen to the blood
- Maintains healthy membrane tissue
- Protects red blood cells
- Slows cell aging
It can also be used topically:
- Anti-inflammatory for skin issues
- Wound healing
- UV skin damage protection
While vitamin E is included in both Dr. Jones’ Ultimate Canine and Feline Formulas, as it’s vital for optimal health in both cats and dogs, it’s also in foods like salmon, eggs, spinach and plant oils such as coconut oil. Hello Dr. Jones and staff,
If I want to give my dog (Bella Rose – Chihuahua / weighs 10-11 pounds) drops of Vitamin E oil to help her nose heal. She licks it incessantly and the skin peels and scabs over.
How many drops and what amount of IUs should be given 200 IUs or 400 IUs? Thank you so much! -Michele P.
