  1. I cannot imagine hugs without smooches and I hug my dog everyday. Her love is special and she shows her affection with a smooch or two. I like it… I think the song says “4 hugs a day that’s the minimum” All the best

  2. Doc,
You’re COOL and AWESOME… I have two Chihauhaus (Rockie Road and Indiana Jones, brothers from same litter) and a Rotweiller(Misha, 14 YEARS OLD) and not getting their love 20 times a day would be a bad day for all of us… When I sit on my recliner if both the Chi’s are not on my chest something is wrong… the Rot gets haugs whenever she wants..Our Pets are to love, hug, rub and maintain for life including kisses…
Thank you for all your info…
    Bob

    1. Rockie Road, Indiana Jones and Misha are clearly very well loved. We’re big believers that plenty of hugs, cuddles and kisses are good for the soul… and thankfully, the scary stories about kissing your pets aren’t quite as scary as they’re made out to be!

  3. My two cats like to lick my hand or my arm. The female ‘Amber’ is much more affectionate for licks than the male ‘buster malone’. They are georgeous and I love em, I think they know that and they reciprocate that love. I had another cat that lived till he was 19 years and he liked my toes and feet, a strange feeling!
I love all animals full stop! Kind regards to you and thank you for all your lovely, informative posts. Maria

    1. Cats have funny ways of showing love, even if it means licking our hands and toes. We’re so glad you enjoy the posts. Give them both a little love from us!

    1. We love being the voice of reason, especially when it comes to keeping our furry friends happy and healthy!

  4. Hi Dr Andrew,
Couldn’t function properly without “pooch smooches”. My two dogs are with me 24/7. My brave protectors. I live alone. Nobody can access my property, without prior arrangement. We are so bonded. Love them both to bits. Watching your video, reinforces that my relationship with my dogs, is not too “out there!”. Love what you are doing, a vet for the right reason.
Hi to all your readers world wide. Myself, from Australia.

    1. Pooch smooches are definitely part of the job description! Sounds like your two have you very well protected and very well loved. Thanks for the kind words, and big hello to you and your two from our side of the world!

    1. Those furry smooches are one of the best parts of sharing life with our pets. We say bring on the love and enjoy those kisses!

  5. My furkid is a really special boy and I absolutely adore him. He is an extremely gentle and loving cat. Everyday, I look forward to receiving my bounty of hugs and smooches from him. In fact, this is how my day starts – and he just purrs with delight when we rub his chest and back and drop a few kisses on top of his head. Can’t imagine a day without this.
Dr Andrew, you are a veritable source of info and a lot of them have been very helpful to me. Keep up the good work!

    1. Those hugs, smooches and purrs are hard to beat. We’re so happy the information has been helpful, and we love hearing how much joy your special boy brings you. Give him an extra smooch from us!

  6. I currently have two furry companions and can’t imagine life without cuddles and licks. They are regularly wormed (as am I) and I’ve always found any wounds heal far faster when they minister to them.

    1. We love that you’re keeping up with regular worming too. There’s something pretty special about the healing touch of our furry friends!
