New Anti-Itch Treatment
‘New’ anti-itch treatment…
A very common herb, that is in many of our gardens.
It has been used in Western medicine for digestive upset, but it also can be a big help to our pets with recurring allergies, paw licking, ear infections.
The herb???
Mint
Chinese folk medicine values mint as a treatment for itchy skin and hives.
Mint contains significant amounts of menthol, which has anesthetic and anti-inflammatory properties when applied topically.
Mint also contains high amounts of the anti-inflammatory rosmarinic acid, which is readily absorbed into the skin.

Mint Tea Rinse

To make a mint tea rinse, place 1 ounce dried mint leaves in 1 pint boiling water. Cover and allow to cool. Strain, dip a clean cloth in the tea, and apply to the itchy area when necessary.

something you should know about if you have an allergic pet.
Allergy treatment is multifactorial- as in using many different things. I have many specific instructions on my blog, but you should be using my supplement. It contains EFA’s, Antioxidants, Probiotics and Colostrum which can all help decrease the itching and inflammation.

Dear Dr.Jones
Would you please advise the best vegetables to prepare for dogs.
We have six dogs and I cook for them once a week and deep freeze the food in tubs.
I have been cooking rice with the following diced vegetables in the rice. Carrots, green beans, pumpkin and have also tried sweet potatoes. I then mix the rice with a special “pets mince”. I am at a loss to find out exactly which vegetables are suitable – I have now reached a stage where I think their diet may not be 100%.
Their ages range from 3 years to approx. 15 years.
I would really appreciate your comments.
Thanking you and regards
